A day in the life of a recreational angler

True stories written for anglers by anglers
Introduction
I decided to write this book to show and tell the public the joy of recreational angling. If you want to know more about fishing (especially largemouth bass) or just hear about it, you’ve picked up the correct book!
To:
Harry Hardy for providing me with those wonderful lures, my papa who has given me knowledge and my first rod and fly rod. To the NAFC for making me feel welcome in fishing. To all the anglers out there reading this book.
Chapter 1
A day in the life of a recreational angler
When I wake up, I just get a sudden urge to just get out and fish. I get dressed, put on my flip flops, grab my hat, tackle box, and pole, and just walk out to my pond. This is very similar to what just about every angler who a recreational fisher does. I usually cast my dark blueish crawdad out then keep casting and reeling in repeatedly. I wait for that sign. That gentle little sign. Like a football player listens for the hike, like a boxer listens for that bell. I just listen to the bite. I feel a little tug or tap on the end of my line then I set the hook. I feel the fish tugging, hopping. It seems to feel that it can get away, but I have it secured on tightly to my hook. I reel in the fish that mysteriously lies in the end of my line. I finally meet eyes with the fish’s, which creates some sort of bond with the fish. You can practically see through the fish. I release the fish. I see my trophy swim away back to its home. Its home that mysteriously lies on the depths of the lake. I wait for a bond with a bigger fish very soon…
The day you catch a giant isn’t just a day, it’s a mission accomplished. You hold your trophy sized monster fish in your hands. You feel its weight. It seems to be telling you to release him back home. You just can’t though.
Joining multiple fishing clubs, I have noticed that there are many people whom share my passion of fishing. From being a member of the North American Fishing Club, I’ve met some people who have helped me improve my fishing skills. One man whom I will never forget has to be Harry Hardy. He sent me a box full of artificial baits and hard deep diving crank baits form Washington State all for free! Currently I have caught a handful of midsized fish on those lures. I love my Power bait Crawdads. Just remember to join multiple fishing clubs and get to know people.
